Peeking Over the Wall

Semester 2 has come to a close, all assignments in and not too many am I proud of.
LM is brilliant and, in nearly every module she taught, she wanted us to keep a journal.
There must be a reason beyond just wanting to ensure we were working.
I am going to endeavour to find this reason in the next few months, before Semester 2 starts.

Thoughts on this Journal in the form of a Blog.

I began with feelings about the ego-centricity of a Blog.
By putting things "out-there", into the communal space, isn't that some sort of "intellectual-flashing"?
Why not keep a journal personal as traditionally they were?
What motivates Bloggers to want to put their thoughts and doings in the hands of an audience?

I am going to come back to this area as there is an enourmous amount of content lying just beyond my conscious grasp but I do find one thread that I can use to motivate me to continue this diary.

I think the academic reference is in Scardamalia somewhere. (I really must start showing more academic rigour) with regards the fact that when one puts knowledge and information into communal space as a cultural artefact, one takes on more responsibility for the quality and value of it.

I need to start organising myself and this may be the means.
